Scandinavia Vacation Package Itinerary

Kick off your Scandinavian vacation in the colorful, modern and cultural Copenhagen, capital of the Kingdom of Denmark. Upon your arrival, a friendly driver will meet you and your party at the airport and transport you to the hotel in complete comfort and style. After your hotel check in (and some much needed rest, perhaps), feel free to explore the surroundings of your centrally-located hotel and start discovering Copenhagen. On your second day you will join expert local guides who will introduce you to some of the famous landmarks in the city through two guided tours of Copenhagen. The first tour walks you through the streets of Copenhagen and introduces you to its most famous landmarks. The second one takes you on a canal cruise of the city for a new perspective on all it has to offer. The following day you will embark on a day trip to North Zealand, where you will visit majestic castles and palaces such as the Frederiksborg and Kronborg castles. Finish your tour of Denmark with some open time to revisit Copenhagen and embark on an overnight ferry on your way to Norway, where your tour of Scandinavia continues.

Your arrival at the hip and vibrant Norwegian capital is a true highlight, as you cruise your way to the city via the Oslo Fjord, on board an overnight ferry from Copenhagen. That same afternoon you will join a local guide on a tour of Oslo and see the most fascinating corners of this elegant, clean and chic capital, including the amazing Vigeland Sculpture Park. The next day is open for you to discover Oslo however you want. We suggest that you experience all the wonderful attractions in Bygdøy Island, just a short ferry ride away from the center of Oslo, which you can access at no additional cost, using the Oslo Pass included in this program. There you can visit some of the fantastic exhibitions which showcase Norway’s maritime history and culture, such as the Kon-Tiki Museum or the Viking Ship Museum.

A tour of Scandinavia would be incomplete without exposure to the Norwegian fjords! The Sognefjord in a Nutshell® tour (which is another flavor of the more well-known Norway in a Nutshell® tour) takes you through some of Norway’s most beautiful fjord scenery. Leave Oslo toward Myrdal, where you will switch trains and enjoy the breathtaking Flåm Railway (Flamsbana). Upon your arrival in Flåm, a delightful and serene ferry ride will take you to picturesque Balestrand, in the heart of fjord country (and not nearly as crowded as Flåm), where you will spend the night. The next day, after exploring the natural scenery surrounding Balestrand on a RIB boat tour of the Sognefjord, you will continue the Sognefjord in a Nutshell® tour, on your way to Bergen, where you will spend two nights. Explore this magnificent town, affectionately known as “the Gateway to the Fjords,” which is beautiful however you look at it. There you can eat lunch at the Fish Market, admire the entire city atop Mount Fløyen and soak in the local art at the KODE museums. Our program also includes a walking tour of Bergen followed by a visit to the home of Edvard Grieg, Norway’s most famous composer.

A short flight will take you to the city considered – by many – to be the most beautiful capital in Europe: Stockholm. Welcome to Sweden! The rest of your first day in the city is open for you to explore on your own. The next morning you will join a local guide and walk the streets of Gamla Stan (“Old Town”) and admire the city’s unique architectural style. Then, enjoy the exclusive experience of sailing the Stockholm archipelago to arrive at the Lidingo municipality and experience Swedish cuisine, for lunch, in a Swedish home. In the spirit of creating a grand finale, we will take you outside of Stockholm to admire several Viking ruins in the towns of Sigtuna and Uppsala, two charming and very interesting towns that should not be missed by those who travel to Sweden. There you will learn much about the Vikings and their impact on Nordic culture. Conclude your tour of Scandinavia with a private transfer to the Stockholm Arlanda airport, in comfort and on time.
