Days 1 through 4 - Copenhagen and Flavors of Denmark

Kick off your vacation in the colorful, modern and cultural Copenhagen, capital of the Kingdom of Denmark.
A friendly driver will meet you and your party at the airport and transport you to the hotel in complete comfort and style.

Day 1: arrive, check in, relax. Rest up from the long flight and introduce yourself to Scandinavia, at your own pace.
Day 2: Choose between a walking or biking guided tour (or a combination) and discover the highlights that make Copenhagen such an interesting city.
Day 3: leave the city on one of many choices for day trips, such as a visit to charming Odense, a day at the world-famous Louisiana Museum of Modern Art or a trip to North Zealand to enter its many castles and palaces.
Day 4: the day is yours to shop, return to any favorite spots, discover new ones and embark on a memorable journey to your next destination aboard an overnight ferry.


Highlights: the Little Mermaid, Nyhavn (restaurants and shops by the water), Rosenborg Castle, Strøget (largest pedestrian-only shopping street in Europe), Amalienborg (queen's winter residence), Rundetaarn ("Round Tower" - great views of the city), Tivoli Gardens (Walt Disney's inspiration for the Magic Kingdom)

Days 5, 6 - The Elegance of Oslo

Your arrival at the hip and vibrant Norwegian capital is a true highlight, as you enter the city while cruising the beautiful Oslo Fjord.

Day 5: after checking in at your hotel, join a small-group, guided sightseeing tour to see the most fascinating corners of this elegant, clean and chic capital. Discovering the Vigeland Sculpture Park is also a must.
Day 6: the Norway of today is the product of a rich maritime history. Today you learn about this country's many tales of the sea at the island of Bygdøy, home to a set of excellent attractions, such as the Kon-Tiki and the Viking Ship museums.

Highlights: Oslo Opera House, Vigeland Sculpture Park (amazing collection of statues about the human condition), the Viking Ship Museum, the Kon-Tiki Museum, Holmenkollbakken (ski jump hill), Akershus Fortress, Bygdøy Island

Days 7, 8, 9 - Majestic Norwegian Fjords, Railways & Bergen

The Norway in a Nutshell ® trip takes you through some of Norway's most beautiful fjord scenery.

Day 7: leave Oslo toward Myrdal, where you will switch trains and enjoy the breathtaking Flåm Railway and spend the night in the most picturesque village of Flåm. 
Day 8: after breakfast, sail
the Aurlandsfjord, the narrow and dramatic UNESCO-protected Nærøyfjord and experience the steep hairpin bends of Stalheimskleiva, before arriving in Bergen, a town which is beautiful however you look at it.
Day 9: Get to know Bergen: eat lunch at the Fish Market, admire the entire city atop Mount Fløyen and soak in the local art at the KODE museums.

Highlights: funicular to Mount Fløyen (spectacular views), the Bryggen (old wharf & traditional wooden buildings), Hanseatic Museum, Bergenhus Fortress, KODE art museums

Days 10 through 12 - Gorgeous Stockholm, Viking History & Swedish Pastries

Your final destination is the city considered by many to be the most beautiful capital in Europe: Stockholm.

Day 10: a short flight will land you in Stockholm. A short walk from your hotel will lead you to the cobblestone, narrow streets of Gamla Stan, where you will find a multitude of stores, souvenir shops and excellent local restaurants.
Day 11: see why Stockholm is referred to as one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe as part of a guided sightseeing (small) group tour, where you will have the chance to walk or ride a bike and explore the sights. Do not miss the amazing VASA museum!
Day 12: think Scandinavia, think Vikings. Uncover the mysteries of the country’s rich history with an accomplished guide and visit sites of profound cultural interest. See a collection of ancient runic stones at Täby; decipher ancient inscriptions at Granby; and visit Sweden’s oldest town, Sigtuna. As a very special treat, along the way we will also stop at a farm in the countryside and enjoy a "fika," a traditional Swedish snack of pastries and coffee or tea.
